A message from Doug ... February 6, 2008 Dear Friends, Thank you for all your support over the last several months. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the hours of walking, calling, posting signs, and stuffing envelopes that you did in support of my campaign. We knew it would be close, but had no idea it would be this close. The unofficial results place me 51 votes behind Mike Connelly, however there are still votes to be counted. According to our information, there are still absentee votes to be tallied in Will County, and provisional and grace period ballots to be accounted for in both Will and DuPage counties. I believe that every vote should be counted and I am willing to wait for the process to be completed. The Boards of Election in both counties will announce official results on February 19, 2008. I will keep you informed of any additional information I receive between then and now. Again, thank you for all your support!
